Free Week!

I got the best news! I had my 30 week appointment yesterday with the vagina doctor, as my husband has so lovingly started calling him. Im measuring at 31 weeks so he said I could go anytime after February 11th. FREE WEEK!!!! I love it! And this is the best part...as soon as Im dilated to a 1 or 2 he will induce me. I have friends who's doctors wouldn't help them along AT ALL with their first pregnancy. So if anyone is looking for a great OB let me know!

Lame Blogger of the Year

Wow, has it really been that long? I guess its about time to "get off my soap box" and post something new.

Its been a while, so here are a few things we have been up to.

In October we got to spend a long weekend in St. George at the ranch building fence.

*There is just something about a man on a tractor... probably an Idaho thing :)

I found this old nasty dresser at an antique store that was going out of business and turned it into a weekend project. I dont know why I didnt get a picture with the drawers in but you can kind of see them in the back. (I think my neighbor thought I was nuts to paint an antique, but trust me, this was no gem!)
Before

AfterI think it turned out pretty cute. We are going to put it in Sophie's room...I will post more pictures of her room when its done. I am having the hardest time finding any bedding I like! Ok, so I can find bedding, I just dont want to spend $300 on something that she is just going to puke all over.

I love to decorate for Christmas! I look forward to it all year. The picture isnt the best...mine usually aren't...but here is my tree.

So maybe Im a little lame, but Sophie has a stocking. I found it last Christmas at Pottery Barn and thought it was adorable. I got one for a boy and one for a girl because I thought they were pretty inexpensive...Im glad I did too, this year they aren't as cute.

Come on People!

If you are offended by what I am about to post then let me just say that it is your own problem. Im so sick of sitting quietly by while the people of this wonderful country basically turn the Constitution into nothing more than toilet paper. We have become so obsessed with "not offending" that we have forgotten what principles and ideals this country was founded on. Our founding fathers were God fearing men who read and adhered to the bible. If you dont believe me read the Constitution or the Federalist Papers or if that is a little heavy for you just open your wallet and look at what is printed on our money...IN GOD WE TRUST!!!!

Proposition 8
"Proposition 8 will hurt children. If gay marriage remains legal, public schools will put it on equal footing with traditional marriage. Children will likely receive “age appropriate” information about sexual relations within heterosexual and homosexual marriages.Failure to pass Proposition 8 will hurt churches. The court’s decision will inevitably lead to conflicts with religious liberty and free speech rights. Society will become more and more hostile to traditional beliefs about marriage and family. Over time, greater acceptance of nontraditional marriage will be demanded of all people. This could impact the ability of any religion to teach and practice its beliefs. Including adoption agencies. A YES vote will not hurt gays. In California, the law provides for marriage-related benefits to be given to civil unions and domestic partnerships. Proposition 8 does not diminish these benefits. For your information:On Friday, October 10th, 2008 a first-grade class took a field trip to witness a lesbian wedding in California. Click Here for the article from the San Francisco Chronicle.A father in Massachusetts was frustrated when his kindergartner was taught about homosexuality at school by the teachers. He insisted he be notified in the future before such things were discussed so he could pull his boy out of school. He was taken to jail. Click Here for the story.A Catholic adoption agency In the UK closed their doors because of the Government's new homosexual equality laws. The Equality Act forbids discrimination in the provision of goods and services on the basis of sexual orientation. The law was forced through Parliament last year despite past Prime Minister Tony Blair's recommendation that Catholic adoption agencies be exempted from the rules. Click Here for more info.Earlier this month judges in Connecticut overturned the state law (just as the judges in California did) to legalized gay marriage. This is not just an issue in California. We voted years ago to keep traditional marriage as the only marriage recognized in the state of California, 4 judges overturned our vote…and we need to fight back. That is what this Proposition is about."
" This is happening everywhere and the leaders of the church and others have warned that the outcome of California’s vote will affect the way the other states vote. So PLEASE…even if you don’t live in California, put this on your blog or email this on. The Internet knows no state line. You know contacts in California that I don’t…and so do your friends. Please pass this on as it could eventually have an effect on everyone!"Occasionally discouragement may darken our pathway; frustration may be a constant companion. In our ears there may sound the sophistry of Satan as he whispers, "You cannot save the world; your small efforts are meaningless. You haven't time to be concerned for others." Trusting in the Lord, let us turn our heads from such falsehoods and make certain our feet are firmly planted in the path of service and our hearts and souls dedicated to follow the example of the Lord." --Thomas S. MonsonClick Here for excerpts from the Broadcast given by Elders M. Russell Ballard, Quentin L. Cook and L. This is my way of going viral. If you feel this is an important issue I ask that you copy and paste this post...and post it on your blog. PLEASE keep it at the top of your blog through November 4th. which you can adjust each time you post under the "edit post" option. The Internet knows NO STATE LINE. You know contacts in California that I do not...as do your friends and their friends...and so on. Please do this. If not for your own children and the effect it could have on them some day...for mine! After you have posted this...email this to your contacts and TAG all your blogging buddies to do the same. THANK YOU!

This is what my funny dog did all day Saturday. I thought I would post this because it made me laugh, he didn't move from that spot the entire day.

18 Weeks
Almost 21 Weeks
I know....the excitement on my face says it all. Check out my butt!!! Its GINORMOUS! Robby is really good to sing "I like big butts and I can not lie..." to me from time to time, it doesn't really make me feel any better but it always makes me laugh.
Sophie is growing so fast. We had our 20 week apt. last week and everything looked great. So far she is a healthy, well formed little baby. She also has big feet and weighed in at a whopping 14 oz! I'm starting to feel her more and more everyday and I love it. I just cant wait for her to get here.
Today my 2 year old niece Issie and I had a pretty cute conversation about the whole "baby in my tummy thing."
It went something like this.....
Issie: You have a bebe in your tummy?
Issie: I see?!...(as she reaches for my belly)
Me: Yes, do you remember what her name is?
Issie: Sophia!!
Me: Close, but just Sophie
Issie: When she coming
Me: Soon
Issie: You want me to hold her for you?
Me: Sure
Issie: Ill feed her fishies too, K. (she was eating gold fish)
It was pretty cute!

Hmmmm........

Today....Im feeling a little like Frodo Baggins. I think my legs are shrinking as my hips are spreading. No complaints though, every little bump and poke I feel from her makes it all worth it. I love this little girl so much already, I just cant wait to hold her in my arms.

I LOVE the fall. Its my favorite time of year! Some thing about it just fills me. I feel at peace, and I love anticipating the upcoming festivities. I am always flooded with so many feelings of gratitude and appreciation. This has been such a difficult and rewarding year for me. I feel extremely blessed to have so many positive, supportive, amazing people in my life. Friend's and family who always seem to know when to call or drop by, nieces and nephews who throw their arms around me every time I see them, a husband that loves me with all his heart, and my Father in Heaven who has never given up on me.

I thought I would post some of my favorite things......

The Fall Leaves!!!

Carving Pumpkins, its a BIG mess....but so much fun. I also want to try to make Dinner In A Pumpkin this year. My cousin Gwen makes it and I have been waiting all year to try it, it looks so yummy!

What is more adorable than Trick-or-Treators? Especially the littlest ones. I can't believe that next year I will have my own little one to dress up.

Mmmmm.....Hot Apple Cider

I'm pretty confident that I could eat a whole Pumpkin Pie all by my self. This year I just might try! (Hey, I'm pregnant!) Costco makes the best, so if anyone wants to see my attempt just show up at my house with the pie and a can of Ready Whip!

Thanksgiving!!!! Like my picture? Bless their crazy Puritan hearts. I'm glad someone had the bright idea to call up the India...excuse me, Native Americans and get this whole thing started.

I'm already thinking about the turkey, candied yams, Maegan's rolls, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, green been casserole....and a nice long nap for dessert. I plan on eating my heart out. And this year I have the perfect excuse, I'll be eating for two (I know...the whole "eating for two" is a myth, but I'm going to use it to my full advantage)! Plus, I'll be sporting the front panel pants by then so those should be a big help : )

I almost Forgot!

GREY'S ANATOMY
Its such a hot mess. I'm totally addicted! I LOVE LOVE LOVE it. I know this is an old picture but I posted it anyway...BRING BACK BURKE!!!!!!!

Its a GIRL!!!!!!!
We are sooooo happy! I think Im going to have to celebrate and do a little shopping, just to get some of the basics : )

She will need a pair of these for sure. I wouldnt want her to miss out on all the fun of scooping poop at the ranch with Grandma Claudette, Ryann, and Issie. Come to think of it, Grandma Chris had a pair this color back in her rodeo days.

She will need one of these too. So cute!!!

Her older cousin Ryann has wanted one of these her whole life! So I better get it early. I wouldnt want to hold out on her or anything.

I know her dad has plans for her playing on the Olympic Womens Soccer Team so these should get her started.

And last but not least. We will be spending lots of time at the pool next summer!

For me....this is a victory!!

For some reason every time I start to think about what crib, stroller, or car seat to eventually buy I start to experience serious anxiety. I think Im just nervous that I will make the wrong decision. So far Ive been pretty good at avoiding the whole thing....until Friday that is. Freaking Babinsky had to go and have a huge sidewalk sale. I was helpless to withstand their trickery and cleaver radio commercials....i was totally lured into the store. Needless to say, I overcame my anxiety and bought a crib. I love it! I think I made the right decision. It was love at first sight. I did everything short of climbing in and jumping on it to make sure it would with stand our kid.
I broke my crib as a toddler because I used to hold the sides and jump like I was on a tramp-o-line and Robby.....well, lets just say he made me look like a lap dog (he was climbing the roof in cowboy boots at three), and for those of you who did know me back then can remember that my dad didn't call me "Hurricane Hatty" for nothing. So Im pretty confident that we are in for a wild child, so let me just apologize now and preface the life of this kid by saying.....Its genetic.

P.S. I think Ill probably need a zanex or something before I shop for the stroller and car seat...so if anyone LOVES their stroller.... Im all ears : )

10 weeks 3 days!!

Its hard to tell what the arrow is pointing to but if you squint your eyes and tilt your head to the side a little you might be able to see a foot, the tip of the arrow is touching the heel. You can also kind of see the toes. So Cute! Its funny what you get excited about when you are expecting. I remember when morning sickness hit I was elated, and sick (and looking back...completely nuts!) So far the only thing Im not doing back flips over is that I can no longer button my jeans (thank goodness for the rubber-band trick). Im pretty sure it might have something to do with 6 lbs that appear to have set up shop on my butt. I guess I should just enjoy the "experience", and probably a little less desert and accept the fact that I am now a full fledged Baby Factory. I guess Im ok with a little extra squish, as long as it comes off at the end. Anyway....we were both so excited when we saw the foot. I think it kind of made it real for both of us. Not that exhaustion, a wonderful array of moods, an extra cup size, and nausea aren't real enough! It just made our little bouncing blob finally come to life. It was a really great experience! We are so so so excited!!!!

Hat Trick

Last night was Rob's second Hockey game back since his knee surgery. We were both so excited for the game. He was AMAZING!!!! I am so proud of my hubby, he was skating circles around the other team. In all he scored 4 goals with one assist. (For those of you....including me until about four hours ago.... who have no idea what a Hat Trick in hockey is, its when you score three goals)
