Yes, I'm one of those mothers that puts over sized flowers on my child's head. No apologies here, I think it is cute!

Jaundice

Our poor little baby had a pretty tough time getting here. She was face up and sideways. Every time I pushed, her head would get stuck on my pubic bone and her shoulder on my pelvis. The doctor tried and tried to turn her but had no luck and it actually got really intense. He had to use the forceps and I have some really "pretty" incisions to show for it. I had a stage 4 episiotomy (ouch!!!!) Because of the bruising on her head she was pretty jaundice. Her doctor put on lights for 48 hours. They would bring her to us just long enough to feed her and then she had to go back under the lights, even though we got to see her every few hours it was hard and we missed her a ton. They would bring her to us on the Bili Blanket.
She looked like a little glow worm.

She has the BIGGEST eyes!
Friday morning we checked into the hospital at 7:30 am. They started my iv at about 8:15 and the doctor broke my water at around 9 am and told us to get comfortable because it would probably be a long day. I had brought DVDs, both our ipods, snacks for Robby, and some magazines.....totally prepared for the long haul. I guess Sophie had another plan!

When I checked into the hospital I was almost dilated to a 4. I progressed so fast that I was a 10 and pushing by 12:30. Sophie was here at 1:49.

Sophie's Room

Its not done yet but this is what we've got so far. We still need to hang the chandelier (I know, every baby needs a chandelier right?) Im still looking for a book shelf, and then Im going to put some vinyl lettering over her crib...I just need to figure out what poem/quote to use. I really didnt want to spend very much money so there are some things I would have loved to do that didnt happen, maybe later on I guess! My grandma made the doll on the shelf out of one of my great grandma's hand embroidered pillow cases, the mirror came all the way from my living room, and the lamp I got when I went to college...I just stole the lamp shade off one of the side lamps in my bed room that I knocked over and broke and added the ribbon and flower.
The bear on the rocking chair kind of came from my dad I guess. When I was a little girl, my mom was in the hospital. My dad took me to the store and helped me pick it out to take to my mom. After he died I kind of just kept it for myself because it reminded me of him. I think of him ever time I see it.

A cheese cake to die for!

For the longest time I have been trying to find a good cheese cake recipe. It took a while.....and some trial and error, but I think I've finally got something to work with. I've made this one three times and it keeps getting better and better. The best part is that it doesn't crack! Anyway, If you want the recipe let me know.

Happy Birthday Babe!

1. Where did you meet? December 6, 2006 at the gym
2. How long did you date before you got married? 8 months

3. How long have you been married? 1 and 1/2 years

4. What does he do to surprise you? Everyday is a surprise. I never really know what to expect!
5. What is your favorite feature of his? I love his smile and his eyes. He is a very genuine person and when he smiles you can see his sincerity. The other, I wont say...Its a family blog!

6.What is your favorite quality? His sense of humor. He can make anything and everything funny. He always makes me laugh. He is also extremely loyal, he loves his family and would do anything in the world for any of us.

7. Does he have a nickname for you? Babe, Baby, Bubbles...dont ask me where that one came from but every once in a while it comes out.

8. What is his favorite food? He likes a lot of different things. Thai Curry, sushi, funeral potatoes, sea food. Always something different.
9. What is his favorite sport? He loves to play soccer and hockey but is seriously good at everything he plays! He also loves football and is a life long Broncos Fan.
10. When and where did you first kiss? On my front step after a date.

11. What is your favorite thing to do as a couple? We haven't really had the chance to go on any trips but there are a ton of places we want to go. Hiking, going out to dinner, watching movies at home, sleeping in...just about anything. We just like to hang out, we are pretty happy just being together.
12.Do you have children? A little girl that will be here in a couple weeks! I cant waite, he is going to be the BEST dad!

14. How old is he? 31, today. HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABE!
15. Who said I love you first? I totally did, I'm such a sucker! I was going to break things off that night and then I freaking told him I loved him. He was pretty shocked but he said it right back...I will never forget that night!
16. What is his favorite music? almost anything that I DON"T like.

17. What do you admire most about him? So many things! He is an incredible man. He has such a big heart and he would do anything for anyone. Last year we were going to my Friend's baby blessing and we were running late because we couldnt find her chapel. As we are winding threw random neighborhoods we saw this little old lady walking to church, she was a half a block away from the church and was about to cross the street. It was the end of January and a really cold icy morning. He didnt even think twice. He jumped out of the car and not only walked her across the street, but down the block and into the church. The whole thing took about 15 minutes and when he got back into the car he didnt say a word about it. He is always doing stuff like that. He is also willing to help others and always looking for that one person that needs a friend. When it comes to serving others he is completely selfless.
18. What is his favorite color? Blue....but now that we are having a girl I catch him getting all gooey over anything pink!

I love you so much Robby!!!!

Like This........

And This.....

Is it just me or does the last month seem to go on and on forever! I just want her to get here. I miss breathing, and having energy, and looking down and seeing my feet...I haven't seen them for a couple months now, and sleeping on my stomach, and my pre-pregnancy clothes and shoes! I am so looking forward to getting back to the gym, and running, and swimming, and training to look like this....... (a girl can dream right!?!)But mostly Im looking forward to holding my little Sophie. Im dying with anticipation to know what she will look like. I hope she gets her dad's red hair and blue eyes and big lips,

and my ears (funny request I know, but red heads have a tendency to have big ears). As illustrated below!

I hope she has his energy and sense of humor, and my spunk. I hope she walks on her toes like every Andreason before her and has rosy cheeks and a twinkle in her eye like my dad. Oh, and freckles! I love freckles!
